Marketing for Nonprofits

Wednesday, November 26th, 2008

This holiday season, you may find it useful to add a widget to your website, where people visiting the site can automatically make a donation.  Here’s a link to Jocelyn Harmon’s Marketing for Nonprofits page where she talks about what widgets are, how they can help, and even where to get the free ones:

Economic Advice For Fundraisers

Saturday, November 22nd, 2008

The Chronicle of Philanthropy is sharing a link on their website that we thought was worth passing on to you.  It’s the Economic Vitality Center, created by the National Council of Nonprofits.  Its purpose is to provide ideas and suggestions for all non-profits on ways to work around the economic troubles we are currently facing.  It also provides a little bit of perspective.  The resource is geared in a way that should prove beneficial to many different professional interests whether they be fundraising or otherwise.  Here’s the link:

Q: Where Can I Go When I have Specific Questions That Aren’t In The Help Section?

Tuesday, November 11th, 2008

A: Use the Knowledgebase!  Here’s how:

  1. Go to our website at www.wealthengine.com
  2. Log in with your username and password
  3. When you get into the website, click on the link at the top called “Help.” This will take you directly to our help section where, at the top left, there is a link to our knowledgebase that looks like this:
  4. Click the link and you will be taken directly to our knowledgebase.  It works like a searchable FAQ for all concepts related to your file, your research and our ratings and scores.  We try to add new information to in on a regular basis directly from client questions we get every day. It’s full of useful information that you can find yourself, on your own time, and get the answers you need.
  5. Now that you’re in the knowledgebase, you’re ready to search.  Enter in your question; in this case, enter “how do I validate my data?”  Or use just a keyword, “validating.”
  6. The first hit is a direct match and takes you to a special advertorial we wrote for the chronicle of Philanthropy on the topic of Validating.  There are usually going to be several other related solutions that you may find helpful as well.  Now you can go through those solutions to determine which ones will work for you.
  7. You can also print your solution by clicking on “Printable View.”
  8. Please don’t forget to let us know at the bottom of the page if the solution works for you!

Q: How Do I Delete Data In FindWealth Online?

Tuesday, November 11th, 2008

A:  In Your History Section

In FindWealth Online, all of your advanced search results are stored in the History section.  There are a number of things you can do with your prospects once they have been added there, just by using the Action drop down.  One common question we get on our client service line is “How do I delete data that I don’t want included anymore?”.  Here are the steps:

  1. Click on the History link at the top of the page to get to your History section.
  2. Click on the name of the person whose information you would like to change/update.  This will take you right to their History Profile.
  3. Once in the History Profile, you will have a new option – for every data source, there will be a new icon (red box with a white “X” in the middle) next to each specific hit:
  4. Simply click the “X” to remove any data source hits that you no longer want included in the profile:
  5. FindWealth Online will automatically recalculate the results for you once you opt to remove the data.
